“La Belle et la Bête” Review

The Disney version of Beauty and the Beast, based on the French novel, is remade by French indie film maker, Jordan Inconstant, in the Fan Film “La Belle et la Bete” – reviewed by Radhiyas.

In Jordan Inconstant’s film “La Belle et la Bête” or “Beauty and the Beast” the life of a young prince takes an unexpected turn after an encounter with an old beggar woman.  A beggar woman asks the prince for shelter but he refuses because of her unattractive appearance.  This decision propels the beggar woman to cast the prince into a beast who can only return to his original form when he learns to love.  The beast is given the perfect opportunity to reverse the curse when he meets a woman named Belle who stumbles upon his castle while looking for her father who has gone missing.  However, things take an interesting turn when Belle finds that her father has been taken prisoner by the beast.  Belle decides to stay in the place of her father in return for his freedom, but is not excited for her life as prisoner.  For…
